My practice investigates the omnipresence of plastics within the contemporary environment and the ways in which they have become embedded in both natural and constructed worlds. Working within the context of the Anthropocene, I explore how materials once considered separate from “nature” are now inseparable from ecological systems, visual culture, and everyday experience.

Through the construction of image-objects, I bring together photographic surfaces and physical materials, combining printed imagery with found, new or manufactured plastic components. These layered compositions collapse distinctions between documentation and intervention, object and image, nature and artificiality.

Influenced by theorists such as English philosopher Timothy Morton, I challenge the idea of nature as something pure or distant. Instead, my work proposes that we are already living in a world of continuous material entanglement where pollutants, organic matter, and industrial remnants coexist without clear hierarchy.

 

The work resists overt environmental didacticism, instead using visual seduction and ambiguity. Plastic is not shown as an external intrusion but as something normalized, pervasive, and visually integrated. In doing so, I aim to make the invisible visible, revealing how deeply synthetic materials shape perception, ecology, and lived experience.
