I’m Patrick Rychner, a Melbourne-based photographer and artist. After decades working as a creative director, I’ve shifted my focus fully to my own arts practice, where photography is both my medium and my way of making sense of the world.

My work explores themes of fragility, displacement, and our shifting relationship with nature and society. I’m drawn to creating images that carry both stillness and unease — reflections of reality that are subtly altered, like fragments of memory or dream.
